EVS is an organization created to combat diploma mills and educational fraud, and thereby to prevent under- or unqualified educators from harming children's education in international and bilingual institutes. Our aim is to facilitate and expedite the checking the educational and vocational backgrounds of educators for schools and institutions. Currently we employ a team of 6 and operate on three continents.
There are two major obstacles to eliminating unqualified educators in international schooling. First is the difficulty institutions have in researching applicants, due to opaque hiring policies and employment practices. The second is a widespread absence of whistleblowing policies in international schools, as well as the general strategy of avoiding embarrassment by quietly letting the employee go or even permitting them to resign rather than raise the alarm and risk losing face, resulting in the problem being repeatedly passed onto other schools in a neverending chain.
EVS is committed to providing institutes with methods to investigate potential educators and raise an alarm anonymously when an issue is identified.
